LG Appliance Repair in Temple, TX: Refrigerators, Washers, Dryers

LG made its name with direct-drive washers and linear-compressor refrigerators, and both are common in Temple homes. LG appliance repair in Temple, TX usually starts with what the display says: OE or IE on a washer, D80 to D95 on a dryer, or a refrigerator that runs but no longer gets cold.

LG

LG repair in Temple.

LG appliances are common in newer Temple homes, especially French door refrigerators, front-load laundry pairs and smart ranges. Most LG models report faults as two-letter codes on the display, and many support Smart Diagnosis through the LG ThinQ app. A code points to the right system; testing confirms which part failed.

LG model numbers start with the product: LF, LRF and LRMV are French door and InstaView-style refrigerators, LS a side-by-side, WM a front-load washer, WT a top-load washer, DLE and DLG an electric or gas dryer, LRE and LRG an electric or gas range, LDF, LDT and LDP dishwashers, and LMV an over-the-range microwave. Kenmore models with a 795 or 796 prefix were built by LG and use many of the same parts.

If your LG refrigerator has stopped cooling, check the purchase date first: LG covers the linear or inverter compressor on many models longer than its standard warranty.

Common problems

Common LG problems and what they usually mean.

General patterns, not model-specific defects.

  • Refrigerator not cooling

Fans, the defrost system, sensors and the control board fail more often and are simpler to fix, so they get checked first. Display codes such as Er FF (freezer fan), Er CF (condenser fan) or Er dH (defrost heater) narrow it down. If it is the compressor, ask for that to be written down for the warranty claim.

  • Ice maker slow or frozen

Often a frozen fill tube, a water inlet valve, an old filter or the ice maker module. On some models an Er IF code points to the ice fan. Temple’s hard water also slows the valve screen.

  • Front-load washer shows OE, IE or UE

OE is a drain error, usually a clogged pump filter behind the lower front door. IE means water is not coming in fast enough, so check the faucets and inlet screens. UE is an unbalanced load, and dE a door that is not locking. LE points to the motor and needs testing.

  • Dryer shows D80, D90 or D95

Those are LG Flow Sense warnings: the vent is about 80, 90 or 95 percent blocked. Clear the vent run and the outside hood before blaming the dryer. If it still runs cold, the element, thermal fuse, igniter or gas valve is next.

  • Dishwasher shows AE or OE

AE on LG dishwashers usually means the leak sensor tripped, OE a drain problem. Clean the filter, check the drain hose and look for suds from the wrong detergent.

Before you call

What to have ready when you call.

With the LG model number and the symptom in hand, the right parts are more likely to arrive on the first visit.

Checklist

  • The model and serial number from the LG label, or a photo of it.
  • The exact error code, and whether it shows on the display or in the ThinQ app.
  • For refrigerators: the purchase date, so you can check LG’s compressor coverage.
  • Gas or electric, if it is an LG dryer or range.
  • Whether the appliance is still under any LG warranty.

    Diagnosis first

Ask the technician to confirm what failed on the LG before you approve a repair.

Does Appliance Repair Temple work for LG?

No. It has no affiliation with LG and is not an LG authorized service provider. If your appliance is under LG’s warranty, start with LG.

My LG refrigerator stopped cooling. Is it the compressor?

Not always. Fans, the defrost heater, sensors and the control board are tested first. If the compressor has failed, check LG’s compressor coverage for your model before paying.

Can a Kenmore built by LG be repaired the same way?

Yes. Kenmore models starting with 795 (refrigerators) or 796 (laundry) were built by LG. Read the full Kenmore model number on the call so the technician can cross-reference the LG parts.

What do OE, IE and UE mean on my LG washer?

OE is a drain fault, IE a water inlet fault and UE an unbalanced load on most LG washers. Clean the pump filter for OE, check the faucets for IE and redistribute the load for UE. If the code keeps coming back, call (254) 615-2088.

Should I run Smart Diagnosis before I call?

It helps if your model supports it. The ThinQ app or the phone method produces a short report that can point to the failed system. Have the result, or the code on the display, ready for the technician.

What should I ask about price for an LG repair?

Ask the provider what the repair will cost and whether there is any warranty on the work, before anything is replaced. This site does not list prices.
